In an important development for the new Natural Products Scandinavia trade show, taking place in Malmö, Sweden, on 14-15 October, organiser Diversified Business Communications UK has announced the appointment of Zoe Jackson-Cooper as the new event manager.
Jackson-Cooper, who will be based at Diversified UK’s Brighton office, has extensive experience within the trade show industry, having previously worked for a range of high profile companies in senior positions. With a background of running and launching international events, including those within the nutraceutical and beauty sectors, she will now work in conjunction with Natural Products Scandinavia’s Malmö-based project consultant Lars Larsson on developing show strategy, content and education, as well as exhibitor liaison.
“We are absolutely delighted that Zoe has joined us at this important juncture for the new show in Malmö,” says Carsten Holm, managing director of Diversified UK. “The launch has gone well beyond all expectations, with nearly 80 companies already confirmed, and Zoe is the perfect person to work with our team here at Diversified to ensure we maximise the impact of this event in its first year.”
The Nordic natural and organic products industry’s first-ever dedicated trade event, Natural Products Scandinavia has enjoyed strong exhibitor and association endorsement from its inception, with leading international brands such as A. Vogel, Solgar Nordic and New Nordic amongst the first to book their stand space. With the show surging towards its 100 exhibitor mark, the past two months have seen over 25 new companies from across Scandinavia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Estonia, Italy, and the UK, join the burgeoning line-up. Amongst them are B&P Handelskompagni AB, with its organic Nature’s Pantry food range; nutritional supplement specialist Acrilex Egenvård AB; superfoods manufacturer Superfruit Scandinavia AB; tofu pioneer TOPAS Klaus Gaiser, founders of Wheaty; Bentley Organic, with its range of body care, hair care, baby care and household cleaning products; Pharma Nord Aps, one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of preventive dietary supplements and herbal remedies; organic grain, cereal flakes and muesli producer De Halm;Biolatte OY, with its lactic acid bacteria, enzyme, fibre and S.boulardii products; Naturkosmetikkompaniet AB, creators of the natural skin and hair care brand Crearome; and Pure Green Brands GmbH, who’ll be showcasing its new range of Natrue-certified hotel amenity cosmetic products.
“We see the Scandinavian markets as key to our global development; there is a lot of thought leadership and early adoption regarding natural products and we know that consumers are well informed about the benefits of using natural products,” says Adrian Francis Scoffham from Austria’s Pure Green Brands GmbH.
It’s a view shared by many of the show’s new exhibitors and reflects how seriously key brands within the European natural and organic products industry are taking the event’s debut at the metropolis of Malmö (Sweden’s first Fairtrade city, which has won much acclaim for its commitment to sustainability, renewable energy, and the goal of serving 100% organic food in all of its public service catering by 2020).
“Scandinavian governments have very supportive policies towards organic in the food service channel,” says Marianna De Pasquale, marketing manager export sales for leading organic food producer Bioitalia. “Natural Products Scandinavia will be the first show for us in the Nordic region and we decided to attend it because, although we already produce private label products for Scandinavian companies, our own brand Bioitalia is not known in this market. Northern European consumers are more educated to organic and to an eco-friendly way of life, and we therefore expect to meet many buyers interested in our wide assortment of organic products.”
“It is such a natural choice to be an exhibitor at Natural Products Scandinavia, we did not think twice about participating,” adds Karin Holmgren from Swedish wholesalers Dagsmeja AB. “It is exciting and we are really looking forward being in the midst of brands and buyers that do take responsibility, not only for our health, but also for our future.”
